Why NOT artificial sweeteners?
What is sweet to the mind is sweet to the body. Just because something is advertised as "zero calories" doesn't mean your body isn't responding to the sweet taste similarly to regular sugar (ie releasing insulin like crazy). To control body fat, we must control insulin levels, and the best way to do that from a carbohydrate standpoint is to fuel our bodies with natural energy sources like fruits and whole grains. As we do this, the desire and "taste" for those super-sweet additives naturally decrease because we are satisfied by natural sources and getting adequate healthy carbs.
